Privacy Policy

1. Introduction
LoveYug (“the App,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is developed and operated by Aashish Regmi(“I,” “me”). This Privacy Policy explains what information the App collects, how it is used, with whom it is shared, and your rights regarding your personal data.
By downloading or using LoveYug, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide

All of the dates above are optional. You can add, change or clear them at any time, and the App works without them.
2.2 Information Collected Automatically

2.3 Information Your Partner Adds About You
LoveYug is built for two, so your partner can add some details about you. Specifically, they can enter your birthday and the dates you share.
- A birthday your partner enters for you is marked unconfirmed until you confirm or correct it. We do not send reminders based on an unconfirmed birthday.
- If you and your partner save different versions of the same date, we keep both and ask you to agree on one. Reminders for that date pause until you do.
- Dates entered before you connect with your partner are kept privately on your account. They are combined with your partner's only once you pair.
2.4 Information from Third Parties
- Google / Apple: When you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your name, email address, and a unique user identifier from those providers.
- RevenueCat: Purchase status, entitlement data, and subscription lifecycle events from Apple App Store or Google Play Store.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your data to train machine learning models outside our own services.
4. Data Sharing and Disclosure
We share your data only in the following circumstances:
4.1 Your Partner
Some information is shared with the one partner you choose to connect with in the App, and with no other user:
- Your display name, photo, pronouns and nickname
- Your birthday and the dates you share as a couple
- Birthday wishes you write for them
- Your answers and results in games you play together
If you unpair, date reminders that have not been sent yet are cancelled. A birthday you entered for your former partner is removed if they never confirmed it.

4.3 Legal Requirements
We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or governmental authority, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of the App, its users, or others.
4.4 Business Transfers
If the App or its assets are acquired or transferred, user data may be part of the transferred assets. You will be notified via the App or email before data is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
5. Advertising
Free-tier users see ads served by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect and use your device advertising identifier (IDFA on iOS, GAID on Android) to serve personalized ads.
- iOS:The App requests permission via Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) framework before accessing your IDFA. You may decline, and non-personalized ads will be shown instead.
- Android:You can opt out of personalized ads via your device's Google Settings → Ads.
Premium subscribers do not see ads and are not subject to ad-related data collection by AdMob.
6. Local Data Storage
Certain data is stored locally on your device using SQLite (Drift) and system preferences:
- Cached game questions for offline play
- Daily play counts and session quotas
- Streak data and last-played dates
- A copy of your dates and reminder settings, so they load instantly and work offline
- Preference settings (game mode, theme, etc.)
This data never leaves your device except as part of normal app operation with our servers.

8. Account Deletion
You may delete your account at any time from within the App. Deleting your account permanently removes your profile, couple pairing, game history, dates, birthdays, birthday wishes and reminder settings from our servers, and cancels any reminders still waiting to be sent. Data stored on your device is cleared at the same time.
To request deletion if you cannot access the App, email privacy@loveyug.com with subject “Account Deletion Request” and include your registered email address. We will process your request within 30 days.
9. Security
We implement industry-standard security measures:
- Passwords are never stored; authentication is handled via Supabase Auth with hashed credentials.
- Auth tokens are stored in secure device storage (iOS Keychain / Android Keystore).
- All data in transit is encrypted using TLS.
- Row-level security policies restrict database access to authorized users only.
No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Children's Privacy
LoveYug is rated 13+. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at privacy@loveyug.com and we will delete that information promptly.
11. Your Rights
11.1 All Users
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete data
- Delete your account and associated data
- Withdraw consent for optional data processing at any time
Contact privacy@loveyug.com to exercise these rights. We will respond within 30 days.
11.2 European Economic Area and UK Users (GDPR)
If you are in the EEA or UK, you additionally have the right to:
- Portability: Receive your personal data in a structured, machine-readable format
- Restriction: Request restriction of processing in certain circumstances
- Object: Object to processing based on legitimate interests
- Lodge a complaint: With your local supervisory authority (e.g., ICO in the UK, or your national DPA in the EU)
11.3 California Residents (CCPA / CPRA)
California residents have the right to:
- Know what personal information is collected, used, shared, or sold
- Delete personal information we have collected from you
- Opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information — we do not sell personal information
- Non-discrimination for exercising your privacy rights
Categories of personal information collected (as defined by CCPA):
- Identifiers (name, email, device ID)
- Personal characteristics you choose to share (birthday, relationship and marital status)
- Messages you write for your partner (birthday wishes)
- Internet or network activity (usage, game events)
- Commercial information (purchase history)
- Inferences drawn from the above

12. International Data Transfers
LoveYug operates globally. Your data may be processed and stored in the United States and other countries where our service providers operate. If you are in the EEA or UK, your data may be transferred to countries that may not have the same data protection laws. Such transfers are made subject to appropriate safeguards as required by applicable law.
13. Push Notifications
With your permission, the App sends push notifications for:
- Game invites and your partner's activity
- Reminders for birthdays, anniversaries and milestones you have turned on
- Birthday wishes from your partner
- Date updates that need your answer, such as your partner adding your birthday
Each date reminder can be turned on or off in the App. To stop all notifications, turn them off in your device settings. The App works fully without notifications.
14. Links to Other Services
The App may link to third-party services (e.g., social sharing). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those services. Review their privacy policies before using them.
15. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Material changes will be notified via an in-app notice or email at least 7 days before they take effect. Your continued use of the App after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
